There is an analogue representation of the date near the outer edge of the dial, the tachymeter scale is displayed on a separate silvered ring at the edge of the case. Two calendar windows show the day of the week and the month in French. The watch is powered by the manual-wind calibre Valjoux 886 with a column wheel to drive the subdials for the small second, the 30-minute and 12-hour counters. Other functions are day and month indications that can be set with a pusher at 10 o’clock, a date pointer and a moon phase indication to be set with a pusher at 8 o’clock. The Valjoux 886 movement has an Incabloc shock protection and was used in watches produced from 1947 to 1974.
The condition of this "Datofix Triple Calendars" is outstanding. The edges of the case are sharp, the surface shows traces of rainbow coloured gold oxide which is highly coveted by collectors, but which can easily be removed by polishing. The vibrant white and yellow dial design with blued hands and blue moon phase indication is particularly attractive.
