Eduard Perregaux was born in Le Locle on October 10, 1819 and probably was the nephew of Henri François Perregaux. In the early 1840s he established a workshop in Le Locle, where he produced not only precision movements, but also pocket chronometers, minute repeaters and chronographs of all kind. His lever chronometers achieved excellent test results. Perregaux won a number of prizes at chronometer tests at the Observatoire Neuchâtel. Eduard Perregaux died in 1878.
