This is a truly remarkable early stop watch with a verge escapement by ingenious watchmaker Henry Robert (1795-1874); he had trained with Breguet and Laresche and later taken over Laresche’s business in Paris. The 2 mm dial is authentic and has a minute and second indicator without return to zero; the watch runs and then stops when the lower pusher is pressed. What looks like another pusher on the upper half of the dial is really a removable winding key.
