Patek Philippe’s Neptune von Patek Philippe was launched in 1996 as a new luxury sports watch. The 36 mm case, the typical dial with Roman numerals and the beautifully curved leaf hands lend the Neptune its elegant appeal. There is, however also the sporty character of this timepiece: water resistant to a depth of 30 m, crown protection and the robust bezel. The launch of the Neptune coincided with that of the Aquanaut, which became popular right away; the Neptune only sold very hesitantly and production was discontinued in 2005.
The black dial of this yellow gold timepiece is rich in contrast. It features a closed gold minute ring in the centre and an outer 5-minute display as well as large 18 K yellow gold applied Roman numerals at 9, 12 and 6. A gold-framed date window sits at 3 o’clock.
