Im Inneren befindet sich das legendäre Kaliber 89, das IWC in der Mark XI Fliegeruhr der britischen Royal Air Force aus dem Jahr 1948 verwendete. Es versprach höchstmögliche Zuverlässigkeit unter härtesten Bedingungen und Schutz vor magnetischen Einflüssen im Flugzeugcockpit, ohne die Ganggenauigkeit zu beeinträchtigen. Auch in Expeditionsuhren kam das zuverlässige Handaufzugskaliber 89 zum Einsatz.

<br>This vintage timepiece is distinguished by its beautiful dial with honey-coloured patina, framed by a narrow, smooth bezel in a warm shade of gold. Inside is the legendary Calibre 89, which IWC used in the British Royal Air Force's Mark XI Pilot's Watch from 1948. They promised the highest possible reliability under toughest circumstances and protection against magnetic influences in the cockpit without corrupting the preciseness. The reliable manual wind calibre 89 was also used in expedition watches.
