The dial features an embossed portrait of Queen Anne in the centre, which looks like a coin from her reign. Anne Stuart was queen of Ireland from 1702 to 1714 queen of England and Scotland from 1702 to 1707 and reigned as queen of the United Kingdom and Ireland after England and Scotland were united on May 1st, 1707. Anne was the last British queen from house Stuart.
In "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World", Brian Loomes lists Francis Goodo as watchmaker in London in the early 18th century.
