The Waldan Astronic Chronograph is a classic timepiece powered by the automatic Zenith chronograph calibre El Primero 3019 PHF. The calibre was introduced in 1969 and bought by Oscar Waldan during the Swiss quartz crisis to refine it further.
Waldan International (Waldan Watches) is a private family-owned brand based in New York. It was established in 1979 by Oscar Waldan (1923-2018), a Polish watchmaker, who learned the trade during WWII at the Buchenwald concentration camp. Today the 2nd generation family business is run by his son Andrew. The Waldan brand has been sold for over 40 years by famous retailers such as Tiffany & Co, Tourneau, Neiman Marcus, Asprey and Wempe and is known for exquisite craftsmanship, outstanding accuracy and affordability.
