In the late 1960's/early 1970's, the company was owned by the Movado-Zenith-Mondia holding company. Being part of this union allowed Movado access to Zenith's now legendary 3019 PHC "El Primero" calibre – which is found inside the watch, the only difference being that Movado engraved their own name and logo on the winding rotor.
Calibre 3019PHC is an automatic chronograph movement from Zenith. Released in 1969, this was one of the first automatic chronographs ever and spawned the entire El Primero movement family.
The present example is in good original condition with small, honest wear marks on the case, glass and bracelet but is still a perfect addition to any vintage chronograph collection.
