This is a high quality, very decorative timepiece made by a renowned master in Heidelberg. The edge of the outer case is openwork and extensively ornamented with acanthus, volutes, birds of prey and a mascaron. The intricately finished Champlevé dial features Roman hours and a central alarm disc with Arabic numerals and foliage scrolls in the centre.
Coach clocks by Georg Henner are quite rare. The reference book "Die Kutschenuhr" (the carriage clock) by Lukas Stolberg lists only one, without any extra complications. It was part of the “Graf Adelmann” collection in Cologne.
