The eminent American author De Fazio notes about Meylan: "The work of Meylan of Le Brassus was of far greater than passing quality,... equal to that produced or commissioned by many of the fine Swiss houses such as Vacheron & Constantin, Patek Philippe, or Jules Jürgensen. In addition, Meylan clearly was a mechanic of more than passing note as attested to by his patents and especially by the many fine complicated watches he produced." In 1894 the company took First Prize at the Geneva Observatory timing competition.
