Movement and the case of this beautiful gold hunting case pocket watch with its finely engraved floral pattern are in excellent condition. The dial has a fan-shaped opening for the moon phases, a retrograde date display, a window for the day of the week and a sub-dial at 4 o'clock to show the months.


Hamilton & Co. was founded in 1808 in Calcutta by the British silversmith Robert Hamilton (1772-1848) under licence from the East Indian Company. Robert Hamilton soon became very wealthy and was a respected man. He opened other branches in other parts of India and and were soon known to be the most famous and renowned British jeweller and silversmith in India, synonymous with style, class and quality. His business continued until 1973.
