Due to extremely high requirements during WW II the U.S. Navy demanded a greatly increased production output from American makers. Hamilton were able to produce large numbers of chronometers almost overnight, timepieces which were based on Ulysse Nardin calibres. The execution and precision of these chronometers was of supreme quality. More than 1.000 of them were produced between 1942 and the end of the war.
