This vintage bracelet watch is something very special. All visible surfaces are textured, giving the classic Day-Date a beautiful and unique aesthetic. For the elaborate surface decoration, the Florentine technique was used, which was developed to decorate precious metals.
Rolex experimented with different surface designs and a variety of different materials for the Day-Date dials from the mid-1960s onwards and saw their heyday in the 1970s.
Reference 1806 is one of the rarest Day-Date models and very few are in such good condition. The textured, champagne-coloured dial has slightly darkened, extremely well-preserved luminous dots that perfectly match the luminous material of the baton gold hands. The unusual gold bracelet is in excellent condition; only bezel and horns show a few honest signs of ageing.
