The Omega calibre 30T2 was introduced in 1938; it was considered to be a very adaptable movement and produced in various versions until 1963. The movement only has a diameter of 30 mm but is set up to allow the largest possible sizes for balance and barrel. Because of its quality and reliability, the British government ordered over 110,000 pieces of this model in World War II.
To extend size of the movement of this dress watch to a handsome 56 mm, Omega fitted it into a wide ring and extended the length of the central seconds hand to the outer edge of the dial.
