62 cut sapphires frame the silvered dial with its central raised enamel minute ring and baguette cut bar-shaped diamond indexes. Four more sapphires, four brilliant cut diamonds and a large baguette cut diamond embellish the square-cut bow. The outstandingly designed case is a custom-made goldsmith's work in platinum and was manufactured in the USA by Tiffany & Co. In the mid to late 20th century, a few well-known European watch manufacturers exported finished movements in transport cases to the United States of America. These were then encased in high-quality cases by local jewellers, such as in this particular case Tiffany & Co. in New York for Patek Philippe, according to the personal taste of their customers.
