To the best of our knowledge the name "demi-chronomètre" was only used by three other companies, which were also from Geneva – those were Henry Capt, Vacheron Constantin and Fritz Piguet. The rare designation signals that the movement was sent to the Observatory for chronometer tests but was withdrawn before it could finish all the required tests. The reasons for this were usually commercial.
The Eugène LeCoultre company was active in the second half of the 19th century and produced very fine and extremely complicated watches, some of them with perpetual calendars. In 1880 the company was awarded first prize in the chronometer test at the Geneva observatory.
