This platinum timepiece with a diamond-set dial is one of the rarest "De Luxe Chronometer" models of reference 14327. In fact, we know of only one other example, which was sold in 2007 during the Omegamania auction in Switzerland for 413,700.00 CHF. Launched in 1953, the "De Luxe Chronometer" mostly came in yellow gold cases. Examples in platinum and white gold are extremely rare and have become highly sought-after collector's pieces. In this particular case there is also the stunning condition of the watch. The case with the unusual lugs shows gentle signs of wear, but generally has been carefully cared for and exhibits only very light surface scratches. Particularly attractive is the two-tone, allover engine-turned "tapisserie" dial with its charmingly aged, pyramid-shaped squares that have slightly changed colour. The textured, champagne-coloured rim and the café-au-lait centre give the watch an exciting, refreshing look. Together with eight applied diamond indexes, it is a truly stunning look.
