When the Rolex Datejust became the icon of an ever changing design standard in the 1970s, the Yacht Club model aimed at offering a similar kind of elegance, albeit with a more cutting approach.
The Yacht Club was launched in 1967 and soon became one of IWC's most successful and best-selling watches. It has a simple dial with applied indexes and a date window at 3 o'clock. Inside is IWC's famous automatic movement, calibre 8541, with a special shock absorber. The case has a diameter of 36 mm and wide flared lugs.
