Fredrik Jürgensen was born on August 19, 1787; he was the second youngest son of Jürgen Jürgensen. Fredrik started his apprenticeship in his father’s workshop in1801 and was trained by his oldest brother Urban. In April 1809 Fredrik went to Geneva. After his father's death he was called back to Copenhagen to take over the running of the family business. On May 15th, 1811 he was appointed watchmaker to the court as successor of his father. For a while Fredrik still signed the timepieces created by the company Larpent & Jürgensen, until the company was renamed to Fredrik Jürgensen in1811. Fredrik died in 1843.
