The Swedish watchmaker Carl Henrik Anderson (1875-1927) grew up near Malmö on an old farm. Due to his poor health as a child, Carl Henrik was apprenticed to a watchmaker by his parents. He moved to Neuchâtel, Paris and St. Petersburg and took the French first name Charles. When he returned to Sweden in 1913, he settled in Stockholm after working abroad for 12 years and gaining an excellent reputation as a maker of high-quality precision timepieces. The numerous awards Charles Anderson received testify to his outstanding skills: a silver medal in Stockholm in 1896, a bronze medal in Paris in 1898, a certificate from L'Ecole d'Horlogerie in Neuchâtel and a silver medal in Paris in 1900, and finally the gold medal in Paris in 1902. The Swedish Clockmakers' Guild presented their diploma in 1908.
