The MIH watch was conceived by Prof. Ludwig Oechslin, the former curator of the MIH (Museum International Horlogerie, La Chaux-de-Fonds). He had taken up the challenge of developing an annual calendar with only 9 instead of 30-40 moving parts, where the date can be read in a single clear window. The project was realised together with EMBASSY in Lucerne and the designer Christian Gafner, and part of the proceeds from the sale went to selected projects of the museum.
Prof. Ludwig Oechslin has already developed timepieces for a number of companies, including Ulysse Nardin, and served as curator at the International Watch Museum, La Chaux-de-Fonds from 2001 to 2014.
