An attractive vintage pilot's wrist chronograph of the French air force with flyback mechanism

Despite its age this beautiful military chronograph with a bi-directional rotating bezel is in excellent, refurbished condition; it has a beautiful matte black dial with patinated luminous numerals and hands. The chronograph movement is exceptionally well preserved and starts immediately.

In the 1950s, the French Air Force, the Navy and the French Flight Test Centre ordered more than 2000 military chronographs with flyback function from Auricoste, as the watch manufacturer was known for its reliability and expertise in this field. The highest administrations, such as the Elysée Palace, the French Senate, as well as the French merchant navy and numerous liners also used Auricoste's exceptional timepieces.
