To mark the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus, Patek Philippe launched the reference 5711 in 2006 with a slightly larger steel case and a classic blue dial. While the watch retains the traditional aesthetic design of the "Jumbo Nautilus", several new features have been added – the model is now fitted with centre seconds, a date window and a crystal caseback that reveals the in-house automatic calibre.
In 2012, Patek Philippe modified their reference 5711 with a white dial and then in 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their successful model, Patek Philippe released the reference 5711/1P-001, a limited edition of 700 pieces of the classic wristwatch in platinum and baguette-cut diamond indexes.
In 2021, Thierry Stern, President of Patek Philippe, surprisingly announced the end of production of the Nautilus 5711 and at the same time promised to release a final new edition in steel: Ref. 5711/1300A-001 with diamond setting and reference 5711/1A-014 in the usual plain porthole case, still in stainless steel, with centre seconds and date window, but now with an olive green dial in an edition of 150 pieces. We can already predict that the last edition of the 5711 Nautilus Jumbo Green will probably be one of the hardest to get and most sought-after watches on the market.
