On occasion of the 200th birthday of Ferdinand Adolph Lange, founder of the German watchmaking industry in Glashuette, A. Lange & Söhne launched the 1815 "200th Anniversary F. A. Lange" special edition in 2015, limited to 200 pieces each in platinum and honey gold.
The anniversary watch is a special edition version of the existing 1815 line, whose design is shaped by tradition. With its large dial diameter, Arabic numerals and outer minute track, it is reminiscent of Ferdinand Adolph Lange's early pocket watches. The elegant 40 mm case is made of exclusive 18-carat honey gold; this new type of gold alloy is significantly harder than any other gold alloys and was developed exclusively for A. Lange & Söhne; it was presented for the first time in 2010 with the Homage Edition.
