Reference 3466 is one of the rarest large Calatravas in steel and the only Patek Philippe self-winding watch of the 34 reference circle in steel. To the best of our knowledge, only about 20 examples of this reference have been offered on the market to date. It was only produced in small numbers from 1965 onwards and is little known among collectors. With its stainless steel case and timeless, minimalist aesthetics, it looks very elegant and classy. Inside is the reliable automatic calibre 27-460, considered by many to be one of the best automatic movements of all time.
This watch is illustrated and described in: J. Michael Mehltretter "Die Noblen aus der Schweiz", Ulm 2006, p. 149 and in J. Michael Mehltretter "Armbanduhren, Technik, Funktion und Bewertung", 2nd corrected edition, Stuttgart 2022, p. 196.
