This Calatrava model is in excellent condition. The silvered dial is slightly darkened, which looks simply stunning in combination with the rose gold case, indices and hands. Even without additional complications, this relatively large Calatrava is considered one of the most exclusive and elegant vintage wristwatches produced by Patek Philippe.
The present watch is described and illustrated in: J. Michael Mehltretter "Armbanduhren, Technik, Funktion und Bewertung", 2nd corrected edition, Stuttgart 2022, p. 156.

The Calatrava reference 570 is kind of an oversize version of the first ever Calatrava model, which is the legendary reference 96. Other than in size, the two timepieces are very similar; the size, however, which is uncommon for a model dating from the 1930s and 1940s, gives this watch an unusually modern appearance. The reference was launched in 1938 and available in yellow gold, rose and white gold, platinum and steel.
