CartierMontre de poche medicale
An exquisite, thin pocket watch with "single button doctor's chronograph", pulsation scale and 30 minute register
The present timepiece is distinguished by the rare pulsation scale. More common are the Cartier pocket watch chronographs with external 60-second calibration. All functions such as start, stop and the hand's decline to zero are released by the winding crown. The high-quality movement is equipped with 29 jewels and tested in 8 positions. It bears the signature "European Watch and Clock Co., Inc.", a joint venture between LeCoultre (later Jaeger-LeCoultre) and Cartier, founded in 1919 with the aim of producing exclusive mechanisms for Cartier wristwatches.
A similar chronograph with a pulsation scale is illustrated in "Le Temps de Cartier" by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti, Franco Nencini on page 142, another with an external 60-second scale on page 90.
