Scafograf Super 500

A diver's attractive and very rare vintage wristwatch with red/black roulette date

The Scafograf Super 500 Meter/1650 Feet was the top model of the Scafograf series. In 1959, Eberhard & Co. began production of the Scafograf 100 and the Scafograf 200 in small editions of only 200 each. The models were named after their respective water resistance of 100 and 200 metres. In 1964, the Scafograf 300 followed with a date. A few years later came the Scafograf Super 500.
This Scafograph has a case diameter of 43 mm in width and a special tonneau shape that reflects the taste of the time in the early 1970s. The black Bakelite bezel is rotatable in both directions and features a 60 minutes indication. The beautiful dial with a matte black finish and hour markers in the form of small cubes with internal luminous material ensures excellent readability.
Overall, the timepiece is in excellent condition with some signs of wear, as befits a professional diving watch that is nearly 50 years old – an extremely attractive, unusual diving watch for connoisseurs of rare vintage watches.
