George Clarke is recorded in Brain Loomes' "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World" as a watch and clock maker from 1725 until his death in 1766 in Leadenhall Street, London. Clarke was known for his timepieces with Ottoman numerals. He had many wealthy customers in Constantinople and the Ottoman Empire. Many of his pieces are in various museums and collections around the world.
