The back of this watch bears the logo of the chemical company BASF, as it had existed since 1873, when the Badische Anilin- und Soda-Fabrik merged with two Stuttgart companies; thus the signet was created from two coats of arms with the Stuttgart horse and the Bavarian lion with an anchor, which was used until 1922 and similarly again for a short time after the reestablishment in 1952. The watch was a gift on the occasion of a 25-year service anniversary.
