Movado Watch Co.Rainbow Collection One
A rare, limited edition timepiece-set in mint condition, designed by Yaacov Agam and consisting of two wristwatches, a pocket watch and a table clock in a large red case. Each piece is housed in a magnetic plexiglass case on a metal base with the signature Agam and the limitation number 33 from the respective editions of 100, 150 and 250 pieces.
In 1989, the artist Yaacov Agam, born in 1928, and Movado created a collection of tiempieces reflecting the artist's skills and talents. Each set is limited, has its own name and theme, expressing the colourful and creative artistic skills of Yaacov Agam.
Yaacov Agam (born 11 May 1928) is an Israeli sculptor and experimental artist widely known for his contributions to optical and kinetic art. Yaacov Gibstein (later Agam) was born in Rishon LeZion, at the time Mandate Palestine. His father, Yehoshua Gibstein, was a rabbi and a kabbalist. Agam trained at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, before moving to Zurich, Switzerland in 1949, where he studied under Johannes Itten (1888–1967) at the Kunstgewerbeschule, and was also influenced by the painter and sculptor Max Bill (1908–1994). In 1951 Agam moved to Paris, France, where he lived until 2017. Since his return to Israel, he is living in Tel Aviv.
