A very rare and very attractive Art Deco vintage wristwatch

Hamilton's tonneau-shaped American Art Deco "Piping Rock" was launched in 1928 and was available in 14 K yellow or white gold. Soon it became one of Hamilton's most popular models. The players of the New York Yankees were awarded a Piping Rock after their World Series victory in 1928, each with the engraving of the respective recipient.
The present example has a 14 K yellow gold case with moveable lugs. Roman numerals for the hour markers in gold on a deep black enamel band are part of the case and not the dial, which has only a sub seconds register and an outer minute ring.
