<br>Evan Roberts (1836-1918) war ein walisischer Uhrmacher und Uhrenhändler, der durch den weltweiten Vertrieb vor allem amerikanischer Waltham-Uhren zu Wohlstand gelangte und eine bedeutende eigene Sammlung aufbaute, die teilweise auf der Weltausstellung 1893 in Chicago gezeigt wurde. Schon gegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts gab es mehrere Publikationen, in denen die Sammlung präsentiert wurde. Nach seinem Tod hinterließ er große Teile davon dem Victoria & Albert Museum und dem Londoner Science Museum, anderes ging an das National Museum of Wales. Das Dictionary of Welsh Biography bezeichnet Evan Roberts als 'the greatest horological collector of all'.

<br>Evan Roberts (1836-1918) was a Welsh watchmaker and watch dealer who became wealthy by selling mainly American Waltham watches worldwide and built up a significant collection of his own, some of which was displayed at the 1893 Chicago World Exposition. Already towards the end of the 19th century there were several publications in which the collection was presented. After his death he left large parts of it to the Victoria & Albert Museum and the London Science Museum, others went to the National Museum of Wales. The Dictionary of Welsh Biography calls Evan Roberts 'the greatest horological collector of all'.
