This beautiful vintage piece with decimal minutes was originally most probably intended for engineers and technicians. The dial has a 1/5 seconds division and an outer decimal ring dividing the minute into 100 parts. Decimal scales are used to facilitate the logging of serial sequences.
With the slim bezel and the boldly slanted lugs the 36 mm case appears much larger on the wrist than it actually is.
This timepiece is in excellent condition with some gentle signs of age; the dial is more or less immaculate with a central red chronograph hand and slightly patinated luminous material in the hands and Arabic hour markers.

Military watches were part of the Junghans company in Schramberg’s production range and after the war the company developed their own calibre J 88 with 19 jewels. The J 88 calibre is a beautiful, gilt movement with rack wheel, Breguet hairspring, screw balance and shock protection.
