The two masterpieces - a chronograph with a 30-minute counter and a flat, beautifully decorated dress watch - are presented here in top condition and still bear witness today to the skills of Ernest Roth, who was born in 1911. From 1927 to 1933, he was a student at the Technicum in la Chaux-de-Fonds, from which he graduated with a grade of 5.4 out of a possible 6, as the original certificate booklet shows. In 1937, he participated in the chronometer competition of the Observatory in Neuchâtel, where he was awarded 2nd prize for his deck chronometer.
