This timepiece impresses with its clarity, coupled with the complexity and durability of its technology. The crystal-glazed movement rests on three chrome-plated cone feet. A spirit level is used for levelling when setting it up. The central dial has baton indexes, a blue ring disc indicating the months and a moon phase indicator embedded in a spiral-shaped annual calendar, starting with the year 2000 and extending to the year 3000. An extra-long, very filigree hand moves from one year to the next within a year. As in all Atmos watches, the movement is driven by changes in air pressure.
The case design comes from the design studio Kohler & Rekow in Paris, which was already commissioned by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1988 to design a futuristic Atmos watch and designed the entire Atlantis model series.
