Patek Philippe launched the Telequartz as a DCF77 radio-controlled watch in 1982. It is part of a long tradition of quartz clocks and time centers at Patek that goes back to the 1940s. With mains connection and optional power supply via rechargeable batteries, it was in use for decades and maybe here and there until today; also the present clock finds its radio signal within a few minutes after switching on and shows the exact time from then on. The slave clocks are supplied with the time signal via a simple two-wire connection and can thus display 12 of the 24 official time zones.
