<br>Die Uhrenmanufaktur International Watch Co. stellte ihre Ingenieur in der Mitte der 1950er Jahre zum ersten Mal der Öffentlichkeit vor. Die Uhr mit dem automatischen Aufzug war zu ihrer Zeit eine Sensation und wurde immer als die robusteste Uhr überhaupt angesehen. Das Konzept der Armbanduhr sah eine beständige Anpassung an den technischen Fortschritt vor. Das bis 80.000 A/m antimagnetische Modell "Ingenieur SL" kam 1976 auf den Markt, Modell "Ingenieur R" (antimagnetisch bis 500.000 A/m) dann 1989.

<br>This IWC Ingenieur wristwatch was made for the first time by International Watch Co. in the middle of the 1950's. With its self-winding mechanical movement, it was a sensation at the time, and has always been considered as the most resistant watch. This concept of wristwatch was meant to be constantly adapted to technical progress in the field. In 1976 will be launched the model "Ingenieur SL" antimagnetic to 80'000 Ampere/Meter and in 1989 the "Ingenieur R" antimagnetic to 500'000 Ampere/Meter.
