The company Eberhard was established in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Georges Emile Eberhard in 1887 and specialized in the development of highly accurate chronographs. Already in the late 1940s, the company launched the Extra-Fort model, which would soon become one of the most important timepieces of the brand. It takes its name from its extremely robust case and is regarded as a forerunner of all Eberhard chronographs.
