<br>Vacheron & Constantins Referenz 4072 ist eines der begehrtesten Chronographenmodelle von außergewöhnlicher Qualität, Ästhetik und Wert. Sie wurde von 1938 bis Ende der 1960er Jahre in Gelbgold, Rotgold, Stahl und Stahl/Gold produziert. Die Chronographendrücker wurden in zwei Varianten hergstellt, oval oder mit den bekannteren rechteckigen Drückern. Man verwendete drei verschiedene Chronographenkaliber, Cal. 295, 434 und 492.<br>Laut Stammbuchauszug stammt der vorliegende Armbandchronograph aus dem Jahre 1941. Das harmonisch patinierte Zifferblatt ist mit Indizes und arab. Zahlen aus Rotgold, rotgoldenen Zeigern und gebläuten Chronographenzeigern ausgestattet und zeichnet sich durch eine zeitlos elegante Linienführung aus. Das Handaufzugswerk verfügt über einen 30-Minuten-Zähler - eine besonders beeindruckende Zeitmesskapazität für die damalige Zeit.

It was produced from 1938 to the late 1960s and available in yellow and red gold, steel and steel /gold. The chronograph pushbuttons came in two variations; they were either oval or - more commonly - rectangular. Three different chronograph calibres were used: Calibres 295, 434 and 492.<br>According to the records from the archives, this wrist chronograph dates from 1941. The harmoniously patinated dial has red gold indexes and Arabic numerals with red gold hands and blued chronograph hands - the design is elegant and timeless. The manual-wind movement features a 30-minute counter, which is a considerable achievement for the time this was made.
