Sometime in the 1980s just over 4,000 original and fully functional pillar movements featuring the legendary Eberhard chronograph calibre 14'' from the 1920s and 1930s were found in one of the company’s storerooms. The Eberhard Chronograph Calibre 14'' was one of the first wrist chronographs ever and considered a benchmark - the novel design of the pillar movement permitted measuring time to the fifth of a second.
Eberhard & Co. fitted these recovered old movements into suitable cases and used the original designs to create a limited series of 4,000 marvellous replica timepieces; they were available to a selected group of potential customers only.
