This chronograph is a cult icon and one of the most highly coveted vintage watches of the Omega brand. The beautiful combination of the brushed steel case with a gently shimmering blue dial and the wide, white tachy scale exudes an irresistible charm. The watch is fitted with the legendary automatic calibre 1040, which is a modified Lemania automatic calibre 1340. It was first introduced in 1970 - the first automatic chronograph movement with 28,800 beats per hour. The design featured a central chronograph minute hand, which has a striking orange-coloured tip in this model. The Seamaster Chronograph was launched in 1971 and available until 1974.
This Seamaster Chronograph has some minor, age-appropriate signs of wear but is in an overall very attractive original condition.
