Audemars PiguetRoyal Oak Automatic
A heavy Geneva wristwatch with original box
Sold
The Royal Oak Automatic reference 14790 with a reduced size of 36 mm was launched in the early 1990s as an alternative to the "Jumbo" Royal Oak reference 5402; the production ran until it was discontinued in 2005. This timepiece features the distinctive screwed-down, octagonal bezel with chamfered and polished edges designed by Gerald Genta as well as the "tapisserie" dial and the integrated bracelet that are typical for all Royal Oak models.
The watch is a second execution model and has the corresponding "D" serial number. The large, serif-font Audemars Piguet logo and the elongated indexes are also typical for the second series. The case houses the ultra-flat AP calibre 2225, which is based on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s calibre JLC 889.
