The automatic "Ephemerides Solaires" from the Lindbergh range was launched to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Longines brand. It displays mean time as well as the equation of time on the revolving bezel, which has a locking lever at 6 o’clock. Two windows at 12 o’clock show sunrise and sunset synchronised with the date and the month, which are indicated in the windows at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively. A window at 6 o’clock displays the northern and southern declination of the sun in degrees, which helps identify the latitude.
The model was produced in a series of 1,000 pieces in steel and 200 in gold; the case design takes its inspiration from the pilots‘ watches of the 1930s.
