A rare, early and large pilot's wristwatch with enamel dial

This movement is a rare hunter case variation of calibre 40.6. From 1923 to 1936 the calibre was used in 959,400 timepieces, but only 54,600 of them were hunter watches. When it was decided to produce a wristwatch, Omega used the parts that were already available instead of designing a new and smaller calibre – which explains the unusually large size of the watch.
