OmegaSeamaster Mariner
A sportive vintage wristwatch with date and weekdays indicator in German writing - with operating instructions and original sales receipt
The Omega-calibre 1310 Megaquartz was introduced in 1973. It was the first proprietary calibre Omega developed and production ran until around 1978. The movement is fitted with eight jewels and has a frequency of 32,768 Hz. The robust steel case has eight satin-finished planes and an applied flat and screwed-on polished bezel.
In June 1976 the "Seamaster Mariner" was tested in extreme conditions. During OSTAR, the "Observer Single-handed Transatlantic Race", four Mariner models were fixed to the top of the mast and to the bottom of Ambrogio Fogar’s racing catamaran. When the catamaran crossed the finishing line, the watches were the only pieces of equipment on board that had not suffered any damage at all.
