A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte B/Dresden, Movement No. 43814/43815, Case No. 43814/43815, 47 mm, 2 x 80 g, circa 1900
An interesting set of two Glashuette pocket watch - manufactured in quality 1A - with the extremely rare caliber 36. With a mahogany box and Lange extracts from the archives
Case: 18k pink gold. Dial: enamel. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, gold screw compensation balance.
Re-united after nearly 120 years – two small Glashütte pocket watches with consecutive movement numbers 43814 and 43815. The first watch was sold on December 3, 1900 to the Robert Pleissner company in Dresden, the second one six month later, delivered to Johannes Quandt in Hamburg on June 24, 1901. It is a delightful coincidence that these two (almost) "identical twins" have met again after such a long time and in such immaculate condition – certainly a reason to present them in a set together.
