Case: steel, screw back with military engraving "USN BuShips" (U.S. Navy, Bureau of Ships), movement protection cap. Dial: black.
The steel case with a diameter of only 32 mm features a distinctive oversized, screwed crown protection device.
One of the tasks of the United States Navy Bureau of Ships was controlling the naval vessels and other facilities of the U.S. Navy. The Bureau was formed by merging the Bureau of Construction and Repair with the Bureau of Engineering according to a law passed by Congress on June 20, 1940.
