Rolex "Chronograph Anti-Magnetic", Ref. 3055, Cal. Val. 69, 30 mm, circa 1950
A rare vintage wrist chronograph with 30 min. counter and pulsation scale - the smallest chronograph ever made - so-called "Piccolino"
Case: 18k pink gold, push back, rectangular chronograph pushers, Rolex crown. Dial: black, old re-print, nice patina.
Reference 3055 was originally launched in the 1930s with oval-shaped chronograph buttons. Its re-edition in the 1950s was designed with the same reference and rectangular chronograph buttons. Advertising at the time stated that this reference was the smallest chronograph ever made. The watch was sold in steel for the sum of 1025 Lire or in 18K yellow or rose gold for 2000 Lire. In the same advertisement a Rolex 18K gold chronograph pocket watch was priced at 1920 Lire.
